About the Undergraduate Program Undergraduate journalism study has been a part of UW-Madison since 1905. In the past 100 years, it has blossomed into a nationally recognized program. Both U.S. News and World Report (1996) and The Gourman Report (10th ed. 1998) rank the UW’s journalism program among the top ten nationwide among public and private universities. The skills and concepts offered through our program, combined with the excellent liberal arts education UW-Madison provides, give our students a solid foundation on which to build a successful career in communications. With more than 400 active majors, our students pursue interests in all facets of communication, including print and broadcast reporting/editing, advertising, public relations, international communications and internet/new media. They use that interest combined with the education they receive through this program to pursue career opportunities all over the world. Learn more about our program by visiting:
