Student magazine wins awards

Curb magazine, produced each fall by students in the J-School's magazine class, came home with first place awards from both the Milwaukee Press Club and the Society of Professional Journalists regional competition.

Senior Christina Endres won first place in the Press Club student journalism competition for her piece on funk master Clyde Stubblefield Senior Amanda McGowan came away with an honorable mention for a piece exploring the culinary masterpieces of Wisconsin chefs. The staff overall took first place for both print and online in the SPJ regional competition, leading them to the national awards this fall in Atlanta. Many congratulations to the staff for hard work well done.
