School of Journalism to Host Multidisciplinary Graduate Student Conference

On Friday, April 4, 2008, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication is hosting a one-day conference, “Communication Crossroads,” to showcase original graduate student research.

The event will highlight cutting-edge graduate student research in the field of communications from eight departments across the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. Session topics include: viewer responses to international crisis news coverage, politics and discussion, YouTube and popular culture, the Cherokee Nation Freedom of Information Act, and extremist media in the ‘War on Terror.’

The conference is free and open to the campus community and public. It will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Nafziger Room, on the 5th floor of Vilas Communications Hall, 821 University Avenue.
