SJMC Student Wins Carey Award

Doctoral student Yong Jun Shin has won the James Carey Urban Communication Award from the International Communication Association. Shin will be awarded $1500 to support research on his dissertation, "Interaction between Urban Politics and Communication Ecology: The Case of a Local Low-Income Housing Policy." Last year Shin was award a coveted dissertation support award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. He will receive his award at this year's ICA meeting in Montreal on Saturday May 24, 4:30 - 5:45 in Ballroom East.
