UW remains a top producer of communication research

The J-School continues to list among the leaders in research and publication. An In-cites survey of 100 federally funded U.S. universities lists the University of Wisconsin-Madison as first among number of papers between 2001-05 published in communication research, and second in citations per paper.

The UW’s faculty research in communication also ranks among the leaders, according to an Academic Analytics study of faculty scholarly productivity. The study examined the number of book and journal articles published by faculty from 7300 doctoral programs across the country, as well as journal citations, awards, honors, and grants received. UW-Madison is fourth in Mass Communication/Media Studies and fourth in the behavioral and social sciences broad category.
