CBS News Reporter & UW Alum Kelly Cobiella Talks to Students Oct. 29 Cobiella, who reports for the network and its 24-hour news service from New York, will discuss her work in broadcast and changes in the industry on Monday, October 29 from 3:30-5pm in the Nafziger Conference Room, 5055 Vilas Hall. All students are welcome. Kelly Cobiella was named a full time CBS News correspondent for the CBS News Northeast bureau based in New York in January, 2005. Cobiella has been splitting her time between CBS News and CBS NEWSPATH, the Network's 24-hour news service since February 2004. Before that, Cobiella filled those duties as a freelance reporter for three months, primarily covering events in Southern California, including the wildfires and the California governor recall. Before her tenure at CBS, she was an anchor and reporter for WPLG-TV Miami/Ft. Lauderdale (1998-2003) and KCOY-TV Santa Maria, Calif. (1994-98), as well as at KJCT-TV Grand Junction, Colo. (1994) and KACT-TV Aurora, Colo. (1993). Cobiella was born in Frankfurt, Germany and grew up near Denver, Colo. She was graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1993 with a bachelor of arts degree in international studies and attended the Institut des Estudes Politiques in Aix-en-Provence, France (1992-93).
