NEWS North Carolina Fire Affects Two UW StudentsReporting By: Stephanie Liebergen Videography By: Ryan Reszel Seven college students, six from the University of South Carolina and the seventh from Clemson University, died in a beach house fire in North Carolina on October 28th. Even though firefighters arrived within five minutes of receiving word, the house was engulfed in flame. Firefighters believe it was caused by an uncontrolled smoking substance, possibly a cigarette. Although this tragedy occurred half way across the country, for two UW students, the death of one victim, Allison Walden, hits close to home. I spoke exclusively with these two sisters earlier this week.
