Introduction
This course is designed to help students build design and production techniques to relay creative messages through print and digital mass media. We will study and apply approaches in both informative and persuasive arenas, depending on your interests and career goals. Rather than focusing solely on the technical skills needed to produce communications, we also will concentrate on how visual
communication works.

Goals
Through work in this course, students should develop:

  • a sense of creative vision
  • understanding of principles of effective design
  • working knowledge of production software
  • calm under deadline pressure
  • comfort with constructive critiques and redesign
