Graduate Student Services Offered by UW-Madison

UW-Madison offers a wide range of services to graduate students to support them as they pursue their degrees. Whether you are concerned about housing, health care, international issues or simply wish to get involved on campus, the UW is ready to help.

UW-Madison Guide to Graduate Life

Housing: For more information about graduate student apartments, also known as Eagle Heights.

Child Care: A variety of options if you need quality child care.

Health Care: University Health Services are available to graduate students, with most costs covered by tuition.

Dean of Students Office: A place to go for students experiencing academic or short-term financial difficulties. Also a resource regarding harassment or discrimination issues.

International Student Services: An office devoted to the particular issues faced by international students, including visas, health insurance and health care, U.S. academic issues, cultural adjustment, and how to get involved.

McBurney Disability Resource Center: The McBurney Disability Resource Center provides services to students with disabilities to insure accessibility to university programs, including accommodations counseling, evaluation referral, disability-related information, adaptive technology counseling and equipment, and interpreter services.

English as a Second Language: Resources for students needing ESL support.

Transportation: Many graduate students ride their bikes, walk or use the Madison Metro bus service. Find out more about alternative modes of transportation, or if needed, how to keep a car on campus.

Jobs: A great resource for you or your spouse/significant other who may be looking for part- or full-time work in the Madison area.

Student Organizations: A complete listing of all of the student organizations on campus, broken down by areas of interest.

Wisconsin Union: Two of the central hubs of arts and entertainment on the UW-Madison campus. Also offers a variety of workshops, lectures, outdoor activities and volunteer opportunities.

Recreational Sports: UW facilities are available if you enjoy working out, lifting weights, aerobics, tennis, ice skating, intramural sports and more.
