Brian Deith
M.A., University of Wisconsin
Senior Information Processing Consultant

brian deith photoBrian Deith was born in Neptune, N.J. This happy fact has provided him with endless amusement while filling out forms requiring place of birth, as it is his custom to leave off the state. Oddly, no one has ever called him on it.

Deith earned a B.S. in psychology from UW-Madison. He chose a B.S. over a B.A. chiefly because of the entertainment value afforded him by writing down the abbreviation.

He continued to attend UW-Madison until awarded a master’s degree in journalism in a cheap attempt by the university to get rid of him. Unfortunately, their efforts failed, as he then took a job with the university. He currently rides herd on the School of Journalism’s crop of computers, where he has become legendary in his method of dealing with problem computers. His technique is to frown with concern at the wayward machine, followed by adjourning to a nearby bar where he “thinks about it.” Brian frequently may be seen riding his bike through the Arboretum, leaving terror and chaos in his wake.
