Finding a Job

In the most recent survey of recent undergraduate degree recipients, over 60 percent had secured a job within three months of graduation, and nearly all had found jobs (who were pursuing them) within six months. Job hunting is hard work, but the results can be very rewarding.

The J-School continues its guidance and support services for students ready to start looking for jobs. All undergraduate and graduate students receive a weekly e-mail with the latest internship and job opportunities, which are also posted online. For a personalized resume and cover letter review appointment, call (608) 263-4898.

Students are also invited to submit a copy of their resume to the J-School’s resume bank, which collects resume bundles for employers or internship providers looking for applicants with specific skills or backgrounds. To submit a resume, download the cover sheet as a PDF or Word document and turn it in to Erica in 5134 Vilas.
